QINOQ is the VOD shop from Switzerland for independent films, for Switzerland and Europe, with verified production companies and filmmakers only. You set the prices and keep 80 % of net revenue.

  1. Pre-registerYou apply for an account, we verify you, usually within two working days. After that you publish yourself.
  2. Bring your films in one clickConnect your Vimeo account and click «Take over all»: videos, subtitles, texts, posters, prices and vouchers come along. So do your buyers.
  3. Set pricesRent, buy, rental length, countries, release date: all yours, in CHF and EUR.
  4. Sell and get paidViewers buy without a password. We take care of VAT. You see your statement every month, and payouts are quarterly.

For the long life of your films

When cinemas, festivals, TV and curated platforms move on, your films stay on QINOQ: at your prices, in your countries, with no end date. Whoever missed them finds them here.

We only admit verified production companies and filmmakers, and they curate their own films.

Secure, from Switzerland, for Europe

QINOQ is run by Filmium GmbH in Bern. For payments, servers and video we work with established partners, so your films, your money and your audience's data are in good hands.

  • Switzerland and the whole EUOne shop for Switzerland and all 27 EU countries, with prices in CHF and EUR. We calculate and file the VAT in every country.
  • Your films protectedFilms play only through short-lived signed links and only in the countries you allow. The original file stays locked.
  • Secure paymentPayments are handled by Stripe, certified to the card industry's highest standard (PCI DSS Level 1): card, TWINT, Apple Pay, Google Pay. We never see card numbers.
  • Data in Switzerland and the EUServers, database and videos are in data centres in the EU, under Swiss data protection law and the GDPR.
  • Your account protectedOwners, admins and finance sign in on new devices with a second factor, and the whole team can be required to. If someone changes the bank details, the whole finance team is told by email.
  • Payouts from SwitzerlandWe transfer quarterly through our bank in Switzerland, free of charge; to the EU by SEPA.

Fees

Nothing to pay until you publish. Open an account, bring films over from Vimeo or upload them, prepare details and prices, preview the film page: all free, for up to 8 films (more with more films in the shop). We delete drafts beyond that after 60 days, with two warnings first. Only once a film goes into the shop does the following apply.

Selling

20 %

at least CHF 49 a year

The CHF 49 is not an extra fee but a credit for QINOQ's 20 %. You pay it at the start of the year, and the 20 % is deducted from it first. You only pay more once you sell more than CHF 245 net in a year.

With 1 to 5 films. Grey shows your net sales: up to CHF 49 they all go into the minimum; above that they lie above the costs, and the hatched area is yours to keep. Up to CHF 245 you only pay the minimum, above that 20 %. Of CHF 500 net, you keep CHF 400.

Net revenue means the price without VAT and payment costs; 80 % of it is yours. With 6 to 20 films at least CHF 99 a year, with 21 to 50 films CHF 199, from 51 films on request. No fixed fee per film and month. The exact rules are in the licence agreement, section 5.

Pre-registration

Already applied but didn't enter the code?

Enter the address from your application. If an open application belongs to it, we'll send you a new code; it is valid for 10 minutes. An application not confirmed within 8 days expires. Then simply apply again.

We only admit companies and filmmakers with proof. This protects the platform and your films.

QINOQ is for companies and filmmakers who make or distribute films professionally. We verify you once, not every film. Choose whichever proof is easiest for you; one is enough.
